Meeting started at 1:30PM at
Jose's House in Riverside, CA
Members present: Carla Romo,
Mario Fuentes, Al Hollinger, Jose Mendez, Vidal
Barragan, & Alejandra Mendez.
Meeting started with a brief overview of
last meeting minutes.
All board
members filled a member profile sheet for the Beyond
Limits website, this included a phone number, email,
member since. This information will be posted under
"meet the board members" in the website for easier
communication between each other.
Mario stated
that Jennifer from the Lions Club will be arranging
for some students to attend the summer excursion.
Vidal brought to our attention that Herman & Alice
brought up the "Parent Consent Form" and it was
decided that a modification was needed in order to
obtain more information on the student's health
history and a disclaimer will also be added.
Vidal will be
recruiting students from the Riverside area.
Two vans
15-passenger vans will be needed for the summer trip
- Jose will follow up with local car rental places
to reserve the vans.
It was also
decided that the trip to Arizona will is tentative
for July 21 to July 31. The trip will be
straight to Lukachukai and we will be leaving at
approximately 4AM. In order to achieve
departure time, we will all camp out the night
before with all luggage and materials loaded.
At the next
meeting, we will plan the workshops and have a more
structured plan for our stay in Arizona. Workshops
may include, weaving, silvermaking, sweat, building
a teepee, drums, gender circle, etc.
This year
Beyond Limits will collect a $50 deposit from all
students that will go on the trip and will be
refunded during the trip. The reason for this is to
avoid last minute cancellations.
It has been
requested to go to your local supermaket and ask for
food donations (non-perishable items) for the trip.

AND ALICE COME.
